Increased focus on security, governance, and compliance are key factors, says New Relic report.

Nearly half (44%) of IT/telco respondents said it takes at least 30 minutes to detect high-impact outages, according to a recent report from New Relic, and 23% said it takes at least an hour.

Moreover, 60% of respondents said it takes at least 30 minutes to resolve these outages, and 35% said it takes at least an hour.

According to New Relic, observability solutions can help. Specifically, survey respondents said that observability helps:

  • Improve collaboration (55%)
  • Increase productivity (48%)
  • Improve system uptime and reliability (40%)
  • Mitigate service disruptions and business risk (37%)

Additionally, the top technology strategies or trends driving observability adoption are:

  • Focus on security, governance, risk, and compliance (50%)
  • Development of cloud-native application architectures (48%)
  • Adoption of AI technologies (43%)
  • Migration to a multi-cloud environment (40%)
  • Adoption of open source technologies (36%)
