Linux 6.6 Named Long-Term Support Kernel
The Linux 6.6 kernel series has been officially named a long-term support kernel (LTS), reports Marius Nestor, which means it will be supported until December 2026.
Linux kernel 6.6, which introduced “features like Intel Shadow Stack support, a new task scheduler called EEVDF, improved support for Lenovo IdeaPad, HP, and ASUS devices,” joins Linux 6.1, 5.15, 5.10, 5.4, 4.19, and 4.14 as LTS kernels.
