Students to receive free accounts on XSEDE supercomputers

HPCWire reports that XSEDE and the University of California, Berkeley, have announced an online course on parallel computing for advanced college undergraduates. The organizers are seeking other university partners to offer the class for credit to their students.

The online course includes "online video lectures, quizzes, and homework assignments with access to free accounts on the NFS-supported XSEDE supercomputers.” A local instructor will oversee the remote classroom environment, advise students, and assign grades.

The class will be offered from January 10 to May 12, 2017. Course materials are available at the XSEDE website.

If you are interested in bringing the online class to your own institution, contact Steve Gordon, at sgordon@osc.edu or by phone at 614-292-4132.
