Solo.io Announces Open Source Agentic AI Framework for Cloud-Native
Solo.io has announced the release of kagent, an open source framework that provides tools and resources to build and run AI agents in Kubernetes environments.
According to the company, kagent provides a “foundation for AI-driven solutions in cloud-native environments,” to help organizations speed up workflows and automate operations.
Kagent consists of the following three layers:
- Tools – Predefined functions for AI agents, such as an expert knowledge base, performance metrics for services, administration and debugging utilities, and security guardrails.
- Agents – Autonomous systems that can plan and execute tasks, analyze results, and improve outcomes using such tools.
- Declarative framework – Simple CLI and UI interface to run agents.
The project is launching with tools for Argo, Helm, Istio, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and a cloud-native expert knowledge base.
