Red Hat is Extending their No-cost RHEL Support
Supporting open source software ecosystems is a core object for Red Hat, who frequently provide no-cost access to Red Hat Enterprise Linux to groups like open source projects, foundations, and standards bodies.
That no-cost support now extends to the following platforms:
- Fedora (for driving development of Linux operating system improvements).
- CentOS Stream (to test applications and workloads for upcoming releases of RHEL).
- RHEL for Open Source Infrastructure (to give open source organizations a stable foundation for innovation).
Although the process has yet to be formalized, Red Hat will provide no-cost access to Red Hat Enterprise Linux to the above groups.
In order for a project to be eligible for the RHEL no-cost support, it must be distributed under a Fedora-approved license. However, projects sponsored by for-profit companies can also be eligible for RHEL for Open Source Infrastructure subscriptions, only if the subscription is used solely for independent project infrastructure.
RHEL for Open Source Infrastructure is not, however, available to individual developers, current Red hat customers/partners, government organizations, healthcare organizations, academic institutions, or non-profit organizations hoping to use RHEL outside of independent open source projects.
If your organization is interested in a RHEL for Open Source Infrastructure subscription, send an email to rosi-program@redhat.com.
