Microsoft Announces "BlueHat" Prize for Better Security Solutions

Microsoft is offering a total of more than $250,000 in cash for innovative ways to defend computer systems against online attacks.

At the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas, Microsoft has announced a new prize called "BlueHat" for innovations in online security. The winner gets $200.000 in cash, the second prize is $50.000 (USD), the third prize is a MSDN Universal subscription valued at $10,000 (USD). The inaugural Microsoft BlueHat Prize contest challenges security researchers to design a novel runtime mitigation technology designed to prevent the exploitation of memory safety vulnerabilities.The deadline for entries is April 1st 2012.
