Docker Hardened Images Announced
The Docker team has announced Docker Hardened Images (DHIs), which are “ultra-minimal, production-ready container images built from source for maximum security.”
According to the company, DHIs are continuously updated to provide the “most secure, verified version with no manual intervention.”
“Each image is curated and maintained by Docker, kept continuously up to date to ensure near-zero known CVEs. They support widely adopted distros like Alpine and Debian, so teams can integrate them without retooling or compromising compatibility,” the announcement blog states.
Benefits include:
- Fast, SLA-backed remediation
- Multi-distro support
- Source-built hardening
- Painless debugging with Docker debug
