Razer Releases Linux Laptop Specifically for Deep Learning

Razer, the company behind a number of high-end laptops, has released a new device that is geared specifically for demanding machine-learning tasks.

You might assume Razer would have released their new Tensorbook as a Windows-specific device designed for machine-learning tasks that require powerful hardware to get the job done. That new Tensorbook, however, runs Linux and includes advanced machine-learning software (from Lambda), and combines it all into a sleek laptop for specific needs.

The Tensorbook includes an NVIDIA-RTX-GPU (3080 Max-Q 16GB), which offers industry-standard ML performance and delivers model training performance that's up to 4x faster than Apple's MX1 Max and 10x faster than a Google Colab instance.

The included Lambda Stack is pre-installed on Ubuntu Linux and includes the latest drivers as well as ML-specific tools such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, CUDA, and cuDNN. The entire Lambda Stack can also be updated with a single command.

The specs also include 16GB GDDR6 VRAM, 64 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM, Intel Core i7-11800H CPU, 2 TB NVMe PICe 4.0 storage, and a 15.6" display at 165 Hz 1440p.
