Simulating Quantum Systems with “Ghost Electrons”
Scientists at the Flatiron Institute and EPFL in Switzerland have announced a new technique for simulating quantum entanglement. Their approach involves adding extra “ghost electrons” controlled by artificial intelligence through a neural network.
According to lead author Javier Robledo Moreo, "You can treat the electrons as if they don't talk to each other, as if they're non-interacting. The extra particles we're adding are mediating the interactions between the actual ones that live in the actual physical system we're trying to describe."
