OpenLogic Launches CloudSwing Beta
Open source cloud and data center solutions provider OpenLogic Inc. announced the launch of a trial beta version of its platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solution called OpenLogic CloudSwing.
CloudSwing brings open and flexible PaaS options that give application developers the choice of open or proprietary components in cloud platform stacks, along with technical support on cloud-based open source solutions.
“CloudSwing is the first PaaS solution that gives developers the flexibility to use the components they want and the confidence that the stack will be 100% managed and supported,” said OpenLogic CEO Steve Grandchamp. “OpenLogic has built its business helping hundreds of Global 2000 enterprises successfully leverage open source technologies. Now that open source is dominating cloud environments - companies want the same flexibility, choice and peace of mind that we provide as they deploy their applications in the cloud.”
Highlights include Smart Stacks, enterprise-ready cloud solutions that come pre-configured with security options and scripts to enable fast deployment, and reusable web-based customization tools that allow the creation and addition of custom applications. Coming later in 2011 are a Management Portal that offers web-based management tool access for stack components and an Application Monitoring dashboard that allows performance tracking.
