Advanced Clustering Breakin Stress Test and Diagnostic Tool
KANSAS CITY, Kansas — July 2011 – Advanced Clustering Technologies announces the latest version of its open source stress test and diagnostics tool, breakin. The 3.20 release offers UI improvements and bug fixes, and new utilities in the rescue environment, including: blockdev, numastat, and bonnie++. SSH and SCP clients are now included in the boot image environment, and the 3.20 release easily builds under Red Hat/CentOS 6. Upgrades to testing procedures also provide improved processor stress testing.
Advanced Clustering engineers developed breakin in 2008 because other available diagnostics tools would not sufficiently pinpoint hardware issues and component failures. Breakin is now used by several major component manufacturers in their validation and factory testing procedures.
“We constantly work on improvements to breakin and then release the code to the open source community after we've tested it,” says Kyle Sheumaker, President and CEO of Advanced Clustering. “We hope the open source community will use breakin on a variety of hardware and help us improve the application,” he says.
Breakin is available as an .iso image and can be burned to a CD/DVD or boot from a USB key.
