NVIDIA Plans to Build AI Supercomputers in the US
NVIDIA has announced its plans to produce AI supercomputers entirely in the United States.
The company, along with manufacturing partners, has commissioned “more than a million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test NVIDIA Blackwell chips in Arizona and AI supercomputers in Texas,” according to a recent blog post.
The Blackwell chips are being produced at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) plants in Phoenix, and the supercomputer manufacturing plants are being built in partnership with Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas.
“NVIDIA AI supercomputers are the engines of a new type of data center created for the sole purpose of processing artificial intelligence,” the company says. And, “tens of ‘gigawatt AI factories’ are expected to be built in the coming years.”
