NGINX Partners with Parallels
Open source web server developer NGINX has partnered with Parallels, the hosting and cloud services provider. Under the partnership, Parallels will integrate NGINX open source software into its Parallels Plesk Panel 11 solution, leveraging the architecture and features of NGINX and optimizing the Linux web hosting performance of the Parallels Plesk control panel.
With the combination of NGINX and Parallels Plesk Panel 11, customers can automatically install and configure an NGINX web proxy in front of a standard Apache web server. According to the announcement, this configuration will speed delivery of website contents and provide faster and more predictable performance by offloading concurrency and latency processing from Apache to NGINX.
NGINX, which was ranked as the second most popular open source web server for active sites according to a recent Netcraft survey, passed the 60,000,000 mark of enabled Internet domains in February. According to the company, integration of NGINX with Parallels Plesk Panel 11 will help maximize efficiency and profits to hosting service providers worldwide, while also optimizing performance.
