Specifically, Operators “enable automated management of complex applications and resources within a Kubernetes cluster,” which means they can be used to automate tasks such as backup, scaling, and configuration management.
Other use cases include:
- Managing monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Automating application deployment
- Service mesh management
- Automating the provisioning and management of cloud-native storage solutions
