HP Joins Open Stack Cloud Computing Project

By

HP wants to play an active role in the development of the Open Stack cloud computing framework.

In a blog post Emil Sayegh, vice president of cloud services at HP, announces that HP will support the Open Stack initiative. The reason for this is, that open and interoperable cloud services are vital for the future of cloud computing, Sayegh writes. HP wants to take an active role in the development of the Open Stack cloud computing framework, that is lead primarily by hoster Rackspace at this time. Sayegh points to the fact that members of various cloud groups at HP are already actively involved in the development on the Launchpad platform and in IRC chats. In October 2011 HP will sponsor the Open Stack Design Summit and the Open Stack Conference. Currently there are about 90 companies and organisations taking part in the Open Stack project.
