Gcore Report Shows 46% Increase in DDoS Attacks in 2024
A recent report from Gcore, a global edge, cloud, network, and security solutions provider, shows an increase of 46% in the number of DDoS attacks in the first half of 2024, compared with the same period in 2023.
According to the Gcore Radar Report, which reflects the state of the DDoS attack landscape and highlights significant changes in attack patterns, the business sectors that saw the most attacks include:
- Gaming (49%)
- Technology (15%)
- Financial services (12%)
- Telecommunications (10%)
“UDP floods made up 61% of the DDoS attacks, while TCP floods and SYN floods constituted 18% and 11% of the total, respectively,” the report says.
