Ubuntu Server 18.04 "Bionic Beaver" LTS

A new Ubuntu Linux release appears like clockwork every six months, but a new Long Term Service (LTS) release has special importance. Every LTS edition will receive five years of updates, security patches, and support. Ubuntu 18.04 "Bionic Beaver" is the latest in Ubuntu's LTS series.

The new Ubuntu ships with Linux kernel 4.15 and includes mitigations to ward off Spectre and Meltdown. The Server edition comes with improvements to the Subiquity installer and an updated LXD container manager, as well as several enhancements to security and cloud management tools.
