Fixing Time Issues When Dual-Booting Linux and Windows
Dual-booting Linux and Windows can interfere with the time settings on both systems, usually, Windows, says Debarshi Das. This happens because “the hardware clock is a physical segment of your computer's motherboard … and different operating systems manage the clock differently.”
“Linux sets the hardware clock to Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) whereas Windows assumes the hardware clock is already using local time derived from your current location,” Das notes. This article describes three ways to fix the issue.
