Tom’s Hardware recently ran thousands of CPU benchmarks on new and older Intel and AMD CPUs. And, in this comprehensive overview, the team has ranked the CPUs in terms of performance.
“Your CPU greatly affects overall performance and is considered a computer's most important component,” says Paul Alcorn, and “CPU benchmark comparisons help us sort out the differences.”
The website has featured the best cheap CPUs and best CPUs for workstations in previous articles, Alcorn notes, but “if you want to know the CPU ranking and how you can run CPU benchmarks of your own, this CPU benchmarks hierarchy is for you.”
